ORGANIZATIONS

Initiative krebskranke Kinder München e.V.

Founded in 1985, the initiative supports children suffering from cancer who are being treated in Munich, as well as their relatives, through a variety of measures. It sees itself as a representative and advocate for the families affected.

Our aim is to improve the lives of children with cancer and their families, to support them in their extreme stress and to offer them prospects - during the acute illness, but also in the years afterwards.

We work closely with the treatment teams of the pediatric oncology wards, in particular the Munich Schwabing Clinic, cooperate with doctors, nursing and psychosocial teams as well as with the "School for the Sick".

The board of directors works on a voluntary basis and the aid measures are largely financed by donations.

José Carreras Leukemia Foundation e.V.

When José Carreras, the famous tenor at the height of his career, was diagnosed with leukemia in 1987, the news went around the world and shook more than just opera fans. At the time, the diagnosis of leukemia was tantamount to a death sentence. But he won the fight of his life and thousands of people around the world celebrated this victory with him. Since then, José Carreras has been tirelessly committed to his vision:

Leukemia must become curable. Always. And for everyone.

In 1995, he called on his artist friends to join him in organizing the first José Carreras Gala in Leipzig and collecting donations. By founding the German José Carreras Leukemia Foundation and subsequently the associated German José Carreras Leukemia Foundation, he wanted to help meet the great need for stem cell transplantation units, ward beds, excellent treatment and laboratory facilities, homes for relatives, research projects and social projects in Germany.

Condrobs e.V.

Condrobs helps disadvantaged people and their families. As a non-denominational organization, we offer a wide range of social support services throughout Bavaria. Originally a self-help initiative, we now employ around 950 people in over 70 facilities.

Our wide range of services includes innovative projects in the areas of prevention, addiction and homelessness support, child and youth welfare and migration work. Condrobs is also a recognized trainer and offers supervised workplaces for women* and men* who want to return to work after a difficult phase in their lives.

The Condrobs Academy offers up-to-date training courses for social work. One focus of our work is on supporting children, teenagers and young adults in difficult life situations. We help people at risk of addiction and addicts to quit their addiction and return to a self-determined, healthy life and work. At the same time, we also advise and support their relatives.

Condrobs is also involved in refugee aid, assistance for the elderly, psychiatric care and training and employment. Prevention and support measures for children and young people in schools and families as well as supporting companies in promoting health are key concerns of our association.

Founded in 1971 as a self-help initiative by parents of drug-addicted children and committed professionals, our work sets standards. Condrobs has held the international DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 seal of approval since 2011, with the certification body CERT IQ recognizing our prevention work, counselling, outpatient therapy and cooperation with other institutions. We are delighted with this recognition, as it applies not only to us, but also to our clients in their fight for a healthy life.

Regional

While we are committed to fighting cancer worldwide, we should also recognize the power of support in our own community. There may be local associations and organizations that are passionate about the fight against cancer and provide vital support for those affected and their families.

In many regions, there are specialized cancer centers, hospices or support groups that cater to the needs of cancer patients. These facilities play a crucial role in supporting those affected during their fight against the disease.

By donating, volunteering or raising awareness, we can make a big difference locally. By supporting these organizations, we are not only directly supporting those affected, but also strengthening our own community in the fight against cancer.

Together, let's unite efforts to fight cancer on a global and local level to promote hope and a cure.
